This past Sunday, February 21, I was sitting on our love seat doing some research on my laptop. Suddenly, I saw a squirrel fall past the window right in front of me and heard it hit the window. I felt so bad for the little thing. As I got up to check things out, I saw a little fluff-ball on our windowsill.
I thought the poor thing was either hurt or dead. As I took a step toward the window, I realized it was actually an owl.
After a minute or two of Jesse and I watching him, he flew across the driveway and perched in this hole.
He and I spent the next few hours staring back at each other. Okay, he actually had his eyes closed for most of the time, and I was still doing research, but I stepped outside a couple of times to see him. He made my day a whole light brighter.
Just to show you how close he was, here is the set-up:
We call him Freddie.
You are soooo lucky! I love owls. We had one that would sit on the wire in the open area behind our house for a few weeks many years ago.
ReplyDeleteI went up to see the owl in the park by McKay Dee, but never saw his eyes open. What time of day were the potos taken?
Those are some great pictures. I love owls too! Let me know when you get a barn owl shot.
ReplyDeleteThanks guys! These were taken from 2:00-5:00 on a very overcast day.
